BIO

Jack Foster is a writer, journalist, and documentary filmmaker originally from the Scottish Borders. During the 2014 referendum on Scottish independence, he directed the feature-length documentary Scotland Yet and was one of the presenters of the satirical news-spoof Dateline Scotland, later rebooted as Dateline 2018. In 2015, he was a co-creator of the online Scottish Politics radio programme NewsShaft.

With Carolyn Scott, he co-presented the daily current affairs programme World in Focus for Radio Sputnik, and subsequently The World This Week with CommonSpace. He is a regular correspondent for Deutsche Welle’s Inside Europe programme, and author of a book about the 2014 Scottish independence referendum: Catch 2014.

In a previous - and occasionally alternate - existence, Jack is a Scottish folk singer and even released an album entitled An Hour Before The Dawn back in 2011. No, really.
